What this list is
People come from CMS's NPI registry when a taxonomy code is addiction counseling, addiction psychology, or addiction medicine. A peer specialist with no other addiction code is not given a page. Organizations come from that registry and from SAMHSA's FindTreatment.gov when the program lists substance use treatment. An NPI organization that matches a FindTreatment program by phone, or by street and ZIP, is not listed twice. The location count uses the street and ZIP, so one campus does not look like many cities' worth of care.
Licenses are shown as printed on each provider's NPI record; Kansas's license boards haven't been checked yet.
The map is OpenStreetMap, with the pin from the U.S. Census geocoder. Google's map embed stays off unless it is turned on in the site config. When a listing's name and address match a Google place, the page asks Google for the rating, today's hours, the phone, the website and photos, shows Google's attribution, and does not save those in the site's files. Reviews are not requested. Program websites are read for a logo and for the insurance plans they name. The sentences on each page are Cima's, written from the public fields.
