AA meetings in Dallas: how to find an Alcoholics Anonymous or NA meeting today
To find an AA meeting in Dallas today, use the meeting list and map at aadallas.org or call 214-887-6699, answered 24 hours a day by the Dallas Intergroup Association, the city's Alcoholics Anonymous central office. Its list marks Spanish-speaking and online meetings. For drug use, the Dallas Area of Narcotics Anonymous answers 1-888-NA-WORKS (888-629-6757) any time, and 888-600-6229 in Spanish. Meetings are free, and there's nothing to sign up for.
Updated October 28, 2026. General information, not medical advice. We link to the Dallas Intergroup's and NA's own lists instead of copying them: meeting times change, and they keep them current.
If you need help now: call 911 in an emergency. In a mental health or substance use crisis, call or text 988, any time. In Dallas County, NTBHA's 24/7 crisis line is 866-260-8000. If you drink heavily every day, talk to a doctor before you stop: alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous, and a meeting doesn't replace medical care (see alcohol detox in Texas).

The Dallas Intergroup Association: Dallas AA's central office
The Dallas Intergroup Association (DIA) runs the Dallas AA Central Office for the area's AA groups. It isn't a treatment program or a government agency. What it says it does:
- Answers the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at 214-887-6699, including calls from the public and from schools, hospitals and other places that need information about AA.
- Keeps the meeting schedules current on its website and in AA's Meeting Guide app.
- Coordinates Twelfth Step work, AA's word for members helping someone who wants to stop drinking, and service opportunities.
- Runs a bookstore with AA literature and sobriety medallions, open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the same hours as the office.
- Sends speakers and literature to schools, hospitals and other institutions through its committees.
AA's guidelines for central offices say that, when it makes sense, the office can arrange for an AA volunteer to meet a newcomer and go with them to a meeting. If you'd like that, ask when you call. Fort Worth, Arlington and the rest of Tarrant County have their own office: see AA meetings in Fort Worth and Arlington. Above the intergroup, Dallas's AA districts belong to AA's Northeast Texas Area 65.
How to find an AA meeting in Dallas tonight
- Open the meeting list or map at aadallas.org. Each meeting is tagged open or closed, with its language and whether it meets online or in person.
- Or use AA's free Meeting Guide app: the Dallas office keeps its schedules there too. Search by place, day, time and type.
- Nothing left today, or not sure which to pick? Call 214-887-6699, any time.
- Check before you go. Groups change times and rooms; the list is updated when they tell the office.
Spanish-speaking AA meetings in Dallas
The Dallas Intergroup's meeting list includes Spanish-speaking meetings, and each listing shows its language, so you can pick out the ones in Spanish. For NA in Spanish, call 888-600-6229; for Al-Anon in Spanish, 214-941-6599. For treatment in Spanish, see Spanish-speaking addiction treatment in Dallas.
NA meetings in Dallas (Narcotics Anonymous)
The Dallas Area Service Committee of Narcotics Anonymous runs a helpline you can call any time, 1-888-NA-WORKS (888-629-6757), or 888-600-6229 in Spanish, and lists in-person and online NA meetings in Dallas at dallasareana.org. Dallas Area NA says friends and family members are welcome at its many open meetings; closed meetings are for people who identify as addicts or think they might have a drug problem. The Dallas Area is part of NA's Lone Star Region, and na.org's meeting finder and the My NA app work too. NA has no dues or fees, and its only requirement is a desire to stop using.
Online and Zoom AA meetings from Dallas
The Dallas list shows online meetings alongside in-person ones. For more choices at any hour, the Online Intergroup of A.A. keeps a worldwide directory of meetings by video, phone, email and chat, and AA's FAQ on online meetings explains that some keep video on, some keep it off, and some use a dial-in number. Dallas Area NA lists its online meetings with in-person ones, and NA's virtual meeting search covers the rest.
What to expect at your first AA meeting
No one checks your name, and there's no form. A member chairs, and may ask whether anyone is new: you can raise a hand or just listen. Depending on the format, members share, a speaker tells their story, or the group reads AA literature. A basket is passed, and giving is voluntary, because AA has no dues or fees. Everyone is asked not to repeat who they saw there. In Dallas's list, an "open" meeting welcomes anyone, including family; a "closed" one is for people who want to stop drinking. More on meeting formats and what the research says about AA in our guide to AA and NA meetings in Texas.
Court-ordered AA meetings and attendance slips in Dallas
AA itself keeps no attendance records. Its answer on proof of attendance is that each group decides whether to help: some have a member initial the slip your court or program gave you, and online groups may use a digital method. We didn't find a court-slip policy on the Dallas Intergroup's site, so ask your probation officer or program what proof they accept, then ask the group's secretary before the meeting.
Al-Anon and Alateen in Dallas
If someone you love drinks, Al-Anon is for you, and Alateen is its group for teens. The Dallas Al-Anon Information Service answers 214-363-0461, and 214-941-6599 in Spanish (from Texas Al-Anon's contact list). Al-anon.org's meeting search lists face-to-face, phone and online meetings. If the problem is drugs, Dallas Area NA welcomes family at open NA meetings, and Nar-Anon is the family group. Our guide to Al-Anon, Nar-Anon and family support in Texas explains each group and CRAFT, the family approach with the best record for getting a loved one into treatment.
Treatment, sober living and recovery support in Dallas
AA and NA are support, not treatment. If you drink or use every day, or keep going back after trying meetings, add care. Cima Find Care is a free directory: you call programs directly, and no one pays us for referrals.
- Addiction treatment in Dallas: every program, counselor and physician we list, with phone numbers, and outpatient programs in Dallas you can attend while you keep going to meetings.
