Questions
What's on the map?
Addiction treatment programs (detox, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient and medication for addiction) and sober living homes in every state Find Care lists. Programs come from SAMHSA's FindTreatment.gov and the federal NPI registry; sober living homes from Oxford House's own list of chartered houses. A place is on the map when its street address could be placed on it by the U.S. Census Bureau's geocoder, so a few listings are only in their city's list, not on the map.
Why do I see numbers instead of places?
Zoomed out, each circle counts the programs and sober living homes in that area. Tap one, zoom in or pick a city and the places themselves appear, loaded for the area you're looking at. Where several are close together they share a circle until you zoom in further.
How do the filters work?
The kind of care keeps the programs that list it, on their FindTreatment.gov record or their own website. "Takes Medicaid" keeps the programs that say they take Medicaid or name a Medicaid health plan. Call the program to check: what they take and offer can change.
Does Near me send my location anywhere?
No. Your browser asks first, then the map moves to where you are. Your location stays in your browser and is never sent to Cima or to any program.
Does anyone pay to be on the map?
No. Every program and sober living home with an address is on it, and nobody pays to be shown or to come first. Find Care never takes a fee per call or per patient. Is your program missing or wrong? Claim it free, or read how listings work.
What if I need help right now?
Call 911 in an emergency. In a mental health or substance use crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any time. SAMHSA's National Helpline, 1-800-662-4357, is free and confidential. Not sure which kind of care fits? Find your fit asks four quick questions.
